先週の金曜日に親知らずを抜いた。前回抜いたのは去年で、その時は左上の歯だった。その時は抜いてからその日は血は完全には止まらなかったが、ほとんど違和感がなかった。次の日にはもう普通に食事をしていたと思う。こういった書き方で察していただけるかと思うが、今回はなかなかだるい状態が続いた。左下の抜歯をしたのだが、まずはかかりつけの歯医者から口腔外科のある病院を紹介されることから始まった。上と下とでだいぶ難易度が異なることや自分の場合は横に生えていることもあり、切開して割って出すという形になった。
麻酔をしっかりと効かせてもらって、歯を削って割って取り出す感じらしい。麻酔が効いていたので口内の感覚的なところはさっぱりわからなかった。最後に割るタイミングでは体重かけて強引に割っていた。そのときは顎が痛かった。そんな感じで割ったあとは軽くゆすぎうがいをするのだが、麻酔が効いておりゆすぐたびに唇で水を抑えることができずどんどん出て行っていたことに笑ってしまった。その後ガーゼを噛み締めて止血して終了。抗生物質と鎮痛剤を処方してもらい帰宅した。
帰宅して麻酔が切れてからは少し痛かった。血も出ているし、違和感が半端なかった。当日は歯磨きはせずに軽く濯ぐくらいしかしなかった。食べ物はウイダーインゼリーだけ食べてあとは飲み物だけ。鎮痛剤は５日分もらっていて、切れたあたりから痛みが増えてきた気がする。痛み自体はしばらく続くものなのかもしれない。痛みに関しては市販の鎮痛剤を飲むことで問題なくなった。一方で、口臭が少し酷くなってきたような気もする。もしかしたらドライソケット的なものになってしまっているのかもしれない。来週経過観察があるので、そこで見てもらう予定。
なんで親知らずという厄介なものが人間に搭載されているのだろうか。不思議で仕方がない。昔の人たちはどうしていたのだろう。同じように苦しみながら抜いていたのだろうか。もうしばらくしんどい時期が続くかもしれないが、我慢だな。
