何かをするときに知識経験が足りないなと痛感することがあると思う。私も毎日そんなことを思いながら、必要であるものについては勉強している。こういったときの勉強って私は本を読むことが多い。
そのときに読んだ本をどれだけ吸収できるかというのは本当に重要な点であると感じる。私は少ない方だとは思うが、それでも年間50冊程度は読む。その一冊ごとに1,2％ずつでも吸収率が変わってくるということは長期的に考えるとものすごい差になってくるように思った。社会人になってから気づいたので少し手遅れ感はあるが、いま気づけてよかった。
教科書を読み込む力なんかはそのまま出てくるだろう。世の中に出ている本はきちんと編集されて、校正されて出版されているわけだが、それでもあまり良くない文章が出てくることもある。それに比べたら教科書なんて本当に沢山の方々がこのような表現で良いか、この文章は必要かなどと、推敲に推敲を重ねた文章が載っている。そのような文章はきちんと論理がしっかりしているし、無駄がない。こういった文章をしっかりと読み解ける力があるということはこれからの人生で絶対に必要になってくる。
実際にどのように読解力を鍛えていくかというのは難しい問題である。多くの文献では要約することがトレーニングになるということであった。あとは、どのような目的で文章が書かれているかを意識することが重要であるという話もある。そのため、国語ゼミという本を読んで勉強はしているが、数学とかと違って力がついたことが主観的にはわかりにくい。成長しているのか不安な点はあるが、このやり方が正しいのだと言い聞かせて継続していきたい。
