道路に出ると車が走っている。その車を観察していると半分くらいは黄色ナンバーの軽自動車である。何を隠そう私も軽自動車に乗っている。街乗りでは非常に快適で細い道でもまぁ割と苦も無く運転できる。そもそも田舎に住んでいる場合は車は必需品である。そういうわけで遠出をしない限りは本当に軽自動車というのは便利だと思う。特に最近の軽自動車は燃費もいいし。ただこの間普通車に乗ってしまった。スバルのインプレッサという車である。軽自動車に比べると車幅は50センチほど大きいし、車の長さも1メートル以上は長い。ただ普通車ということもあり、エンジンの排気量は倍以上で想像以上に運転が快適なことが分かった(細い道を通らない限り)。
具体的にはエンジンの回転数を回さなくともよい。軽自動車では加速時や坂道では平気で5000回転くらい回さないと思うように進まない。それが普通車では2000そこそこの回転数ですいすい前に進んでいく。エンジン音がここまで聞こえなくなるとは知らなかった。ロードノイズとクーラーの音以外は何も聞こえない。座席もかなりゆったりで本当に次買うときは普通車にしようと思った。ただお金は軽自動車よりもかかるけれど。
