小学校から大学まで色々な人と出会い、別れを繰り返してきた。特に研究室が一緒だった友達はお互い違う道に進んでからあまり間もないため、会ったとしてもそんなに違和感がないような人が多い。ただ中学、高校の友達は高卒、大卒で就職して早い人では家庭を持っている人もちらほら見えてきている。そういう人たちと会うといい意味でも悪い意味でもあの時と同じようにはお互いいられないんだなと感じた。もちろんその人の性格、本質が大きく変わったというわけではないが、役割や立場が違ってくるとまた関係も少し変わってしまう場合もあるのかもしれないなと。
タイトルはこの出来事があった時に感じたことであり、私の勤めている企業はある程度年功序列な体制がある会社である。そのため管理職になるまでは大きな問題がない限り、年齢≒役職となっている。これはピラミッドが比較的しっかりしており、それぞれの役職に値する役割を果たさなければならないを意味する。つまり同じ仕事をずっとやっているわけにはいかない。年次に応じて自分の働き方、何を重視していくかを考える必要がある。上司が言うには研究開発職としては20代は専門性、知識を、30代では経験を、40代では人脈を伸ばせるような仕事をするのがベストで市場価値が大きくなるということだそう。特に転職しないとしても自分の会社外での人的資本、価値を考えておくことはいいことだということを教えていただいた。20代はもう少しだけだが、意識して仕事に取り組みたい。
