ブログを書き始めてもう少しで半年が経つ。この段階で思うのがタイトルの通り文章を書くことの難しさである。分かりやすく書くことの難しさは当たり前のように感じていたが、その一方でそもそも長い文章を書くことがこれだけ難しいというのは知らなかった。自分である程度書き上げたと思い、文字数の部分に目を向けるとまだ800文字だったりする。800文字は原稿用紙たった2枚分である。今まで大学や仕事において報告書的なものは要点をまとめるだけで長い文章を書くことはなかった(その必要がなかったかもしれないが)。
まぁ何が言いたいかというと暇な時でも退屈しのぎに読めるような文章を書けるようになりたいなと思うわけである。小説は情景描写や登場人物の心理を間接的に文字で表現する。こういった表現が面白いのではあるが、情報を伝えるという意味では非常に効率が悪い。小説の内容をまとめたらおそらくその厚みは三分の一くらいにはなるだろう。ただその三分の一を読んでいてもあまり面白くはない。私はそんな面白みのない文章しか書けていない。今後こうやって文章を書き続けていたら、少しずつ改善されるものなのか、どういったトレーニングが必要なのか。
